All of the AeroHeritage pilots have been authorised to carry out Check Flights on behalf of the CAA for the purposes of renewal of the Certificate of Airworthiness (C of A) or Permit to Fly for an aircraft. Our authorisations and experience allow us to carry out these test flights on a variety of different aircraft as small as an Auster, as big as a DC3, and as fast as a Vampire, whatever your needs are we should be able to cater for them.
All C of A or Permit Check Flights will be carried out in accordance with the procedures laid down by the CAA, and following the relevant check flight schedule for the aircraft. We have a good working relationship with the CAA Flight Test Department and with their approval can sometimes amend the Check Flight Schedule to be more in line with how the aircraft is now operated, being sympathetic with its age. We are not trying to find out what is wrong with the aircraft, we are just checking it still performs ok se we can continue to see it grace our skies.
We can also carry out pre-purchase Check Flights for you, ensuring an aircraft is in good flying condition before you decide to buy it. With our experience of flying various different aircraft every month we are well aware of how different one aircraft can be from another, and what to be aware of when buying an aircraft. Our engineering background also allows us to assess the aircraft physically, ensuring it is to the required standard for you.
Just contact us with your requirements and we will do the rest!
